Oppidum has been leading in these fields since the beginning.  It was part of the founding activities of Oppidum in 1999 to improve processes in particularly Health (Hospitals) and Government.  This led to us assisting with the development of tooling (Sensus) to enable process management.  But the need for deeper process-understanding also came in from a surprising angle: in programmes & projects we were running where “Change the Organisation” needed the environment to know how to “Run the Operation”.
Over the years we have been deeply involved in maturity models like CMMi and P3M3, and even edited the IPMA-sponsored book comparing the different models.  But more recently Oppidum focussed on evidence-based practices & improvements, and achieved status of ACO (Accredited Consulting Organisation) and accredited in the use of the Maturity Index.

Best Practices in this area include:

Oppidum is every year working with clients to improve their business processes, to adopt new Best Practises such as Lean Six Sigma, and to use Maturity modelling to focus their Project & Programme (Change Organisation) and business improvements.
We also use maturity assessments at each Stage or Tranche Boundary within our Programme (MSP) and Project (PRINCE2) and Project-/ Programme-Office implementations or our interim leadership roles.
Oppidum has experience in various Boundary methods: Gateway is a strong & successful method.  Oppidum can advise you on this, or carry our the GateWay assessment for you.

In 2014 Oppidum acquired Orenda which brought us a long history of research & analysis.  This was a major trigger for us to adopt the Maturity Index above other maturity models.
Further in this area, Oppidum’s Clemens Bon has for some years been the Lead in IIR’s ICT Contract Management Training.
And since 2016, Oppidum’s Manfred van Veghel has been leading a very active Lean IT practice, and Lean Six Sigma activities.

Our Practice Leads in the above disciplines will visit you to carry out an initial written assessment of your situation, provide an advice, and this should lead to a formal engagement for a deeper assessment and follow on advice or realisation. The named Practice Lead will be hands-on in your engagement.  This is how we ensure that our experience is shared, and also built up.  We do not supply juniors.  And each of Oppidum’s Partners are individually accredited to the highest level in their discipline.
