Governance Design
Oppidum has a tremendous wealth of knowledge in the design, optimisation and operation of portfolio, programme and project structures. When we adopt a Best Practice, like PRINCE2, MSP and MoP, then it is our principle to engage in it directly at the source, and so in most cases were become authors, reviewers or exam owners for these disciplines. Secondly, we ensure that under our motto “Do what we Train, and train what we do”, that one or more of our Managing Partners achieves the highest possible certification in the discipline and is accredited as a Trainer. But this is not all – we do not allow “Book Trainers”. You have to “DO” this type of work four days a week and train it for no more than one day a week. The depth of knowledge of the disciple, as well as it’s intricacies & dependencies, combined with a 20 years each of experience, allows us to optimise our tailoring advice.
For example, four of our Managing Partners – all multi-accredited trainers as well – have been recently busy in a spread of companies, expertly advising the setting up, and in most cases then operating PMO Governance, in:
- A Dutch multinational Bank/Insurer (a major programme, raising the maturity a full CMMI step);
- The same Dutch multinational Bank/Insurer to design the separation Bank to insurer and operate an element of its governance;
- A leading Dutch Energy international;
- One of the Randstad’s largest City authorities (“Gemeentes”)
