Advice
Given our years of experience across the board, we are often asked to coach and advise Management teams, Executive Boards and Project & Programme Managmeent Teams. In this type of engagement, we always concentrate on the added value to and of the organisations. We dive into running operations or projects and help them help themselves (“It is the client’s change not ours! For optimal buy-in, the client must be seen to lead.”) It’s all about being practical. Sort out the big fires quickly, and then get on with a sustainable solution. The solution must be integrated, but not complicated. People must not be driven to politics, but a process orientation can often help polarise the problem, and show the team members their strengths and weaknesses.Reference clients for our work in these areas are ABN AMRO Bank, de Informatie Beheer Groep and Kamers van Koophandel (Chambers of Commerce) Nederland, and also as examples of social responsibility work, the libraries of Noord-Holland as well as a top 5 gemeente (City Council).
We source our solutions from a mixing pot of standard best practices and our experience. This can be quite complex for us as the coach, but reference to proven solutions is fir us as important as the local considerations and experience. Unlike large consultancies, we are not bound to throw away that which already works by the client and replace it with our golden egg. This integrated way of working proves itself in the number of clients who bring us back to help in other parts of their organisations.
Often it is a good idea to have the coach take up a role within the line or temporary organisation. Thereby he can also prove himself (and lead by example) whilst supporting others. Alternatively, we can engage in confidential coaching on or off-site, which can deal with the challenges of the individual. We are here to help.
